He says, “I do not like green eggs and ham. I do like them Sam I am.”

“Try them, try them and you may! Try them and you may, I say.”

“Then our mother came in and she said to us two, ‘Did you have any fun? Tell me. What did you do? And Sally and I did not know what to say. Should we tell her the things that went on there that day?”

“Please let me be. Please go away. I am not going to get up today.”

These are all familiar quotes from children’s author Dr. Seuss, who will take over Robinson Park on April 2 for the 40th annual Coterie Club of Andalusia’s Storybook Festival.

“We came up with the idea because is was Dr. Seuss’ birthday, and we invited local talent to help us,” said Heather Owen, publicity chair. “We’ve got LBWCC drama group helping with one selection.”

This year’s festival will feature three shows, including Green Eggs and Ham, The Cat in the Hat and I am Not Going to Get Up Today.

Admission is $4 for everyone over 1.

Activities will begin at 9 a.m., with plays beginning at 10 a.m.
