There will be two “Tea Party” events today on the Court Square.

A Common Sense Campaign Tax Day Tea Party will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Guest speakers will be Mike Mathews and Kermit George, co-chairmen of the Alabama Second District Common Sense Campaign.

Everyone is invited to bring their signs and their own chairs.

Face painting and sausage dog plates will be available.

A joint meeting of the Covington County Tea Party Patriots and Common Sense Tea Party Patriots will be from 3 p.m. until 5 pm.

Lamar B. Lackey, founder of the Foundation for Fiscal, Social and Physical Accountability and Responsibility will be the speaker.

Sen. Jimmy Holley and Rep. Mike Jones will be in attendance.
