Covington County Circuit Judge Ashley McKathan Wednesday continued the murder case against Harold Elton Todd.

Todd is charged with the March 29, 2008, shooting death of his live-in girlfriend, Veronica Elizabeth Martinez.

McKathan also ordered a third mental evaluation to determine Todd’s competence to stand trial, and said based on the results of that evaluation, he would hear the case as soon as possible.

Todd, who has been out on a $1.5 million bond since September 2008, will be evaluated at Taylor Hardin Secure Medical Facility.
