BRAYSTON LEE HOLDER

Brayston Lee Holder, the infant son of LeAnn Watford and Jerry Holder, passed away Wed., April 20, 2011.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wed., April 27, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Canant officiating with burial following in Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel.

Survivors include his mother, Lean Watford of Red Level; father, Jerry Holder of Opp; brother, Elijah Riley Walford of Red Level; grandparents, Donnie (Ruthie Mae) Walford of Red Level and Jerry Holder and Rachel Pickron both of Florida; great-grandparents, Durham (Wynette) Bozeman of Red Level and Sybil Sellers of Florida; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

MICHAEL ETHAN COOK

Michael Ethan Cook, 19, of Paxton, Fla., went to be with the Lord on Sat., April 23, 2011, after a tragic motorcycle accident.

He was born in Mobile on May 28, 1991. He began school in Andalusia, where he enjoyed soccer, swim team, baseball and Boy Scouts. He lived briefly in Crestview, Fla., and Georgiana, where he loved hunting, fishing and four wheeling at Snag Lake.

He was a graduate of Paxton High School, where he was a member of the championship track and baseball teams. He took pride in serving as an officer at Blackwater Correctional Facility at Milton, Fla., where he was loved and respected by his peers. He was a loving gentle spirit who loved God, his family and his friends and was loved by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thurs., April 28, from the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Lovelady and the Rev. Michael Holcombe officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home of Georgiana is directing arrangements.

Visitation will be Wed., April 27, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

A memorial service will be held at Paxton Baptist Church on Sun., May 1, at 2 p.m.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James T. Revette.

He is survived by his mother, Robin Cook (Joe) Morrow of Paxton, Fla.; father, Michael A. “Tony” Cook of Georgiana; brother, Jordan Thomas “Tom” Cook; grandmothers, Glenda Smith of Georgiana and Maryanne Revette of Paxton; uncles and aunts, Dana Revette of Paxton, Mike (Tami) Revette of Honoraville, Mark (Becky) Revette of Mobile and Terry (Bendy) Cook, Donnie (Peggy) Smith and Steve (Susin) Cook, all Greenville, and Daryl (Loretta) Smith and Andrew Smith, all of Georgiana; and many cousins.

RUTHIE M. BLOCKER DUBOSE SPIVEY

Ruthie M. Blocker Dubose Spivey, 85, of Red Level, died Sat., April 23, 2011, at the Andalusia Manor.

Funeral services will be held today, Tues., April 26, at 2 p.m., from the Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Knowles officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Bethesda Cemetery in Loango.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Jack Hart of Andalusia, Patsy and Willie J. Etheridge of Paul and Doris and Larry Hattaway of the Loango Community; five grandchildren and spouses, Cherrie and Wayne Gladwell, Ladonice and Tony Ingram, Jacque and Mike Hart, Lynn and Danny McCollough and Manfred Sanders; eight great-grandchildren, Tyler Ingram, DeWayne Gladwell, Courtney Williamson, Zack Gladwell, Brandon Sanders, Corey Scott, Brittany Scott and Adison Hart; five great-great-grandchildren, Brody Ingram, Jackson Ingram, Jaydon Gladwell, Aaron Scott and Anna Claire Gladwell; three brothers, Jay L. and Evelyn Blocker of Laurel Hill, Fla., Edward L. and May Blocker of Andalusia and Johnnie D. Blocker of Loveland, Colo.; and three sisters, Hazel Blocker McClain, Frankie Luschen and Nell Anderson, all of Opp.

Pallbearers will be Tony Ingram, Tyler Ingram, Corey Scott, Danny McCollough, Wayne Gladwell and Derek Williamson.

James “Jimmy” Byron Bruce, 71, of Merritt Island, Fla., formerly of Andalusia, died Sat., April 23, 2011, in Merritt Island, Fla.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Thurs., April 28, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Pritchett officiating and burial following in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Foreman Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Kay Bruce of Merritt Island; his son and daughter-in-law, David and Cathy Bruce of Great Falls, Mont.; his daughters and son-in-law, Stacy and Dale Harvey of Easley, S.C., and Brandi Austin of Merritt Island; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his sister, Mary Ann Dean of Kinston; and brother, Bobby Warren of Andalusia.

ZACKIE EMMETT ROGERS JR.

Zackie Emmett Rogers Jr., 80, of Andalusia, died Fri., April 22, 2011, at his residence.

Graveside services were held Mon., April 25, at the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Foreman Funeral Home directing. The family met with friends at the cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Claire Rogers of Andalusia; his sons, Martin (Carolyn) Rogers, of Harvest, Ala., Daniel Rogers of Mobile and Philip Rogers of Andalusia; his granddaughter, Katrina Rogers of Harvest, Ala.; and sister, Mary (Chip) Adams of Andalusia.
