Locals could have mistaken Andalusia for the Windy City Wednesday as strong gusts were felt throughout the city.

A strong gust of wind hits as Susan and Gage Theus place groceries in the family’s SUV on Wednesday. Winds were from an apparent approaching storm system that made its way through the state causing damage to several North Alabama counties, killling at least six people throughout the state, and prompting Gov. Robert Bentley to declare a state of emergency.
