The Andalusia Middle School teacher accused of sexually abusing three students in March is now free after posting a $30,000 cash bond.

Amy Kathleen Caudle, 31, was charged in March with two counts of second-degree rape and three counts of second-degree sodomy and held under a $1 million bond. She quickly posted bail; however, a short time later, the bondsman came off her original bond, putting her back in jail.

Jail records indicate Caudle was released on April 22 after a judge’s order reduced her $1 million bond to a $6,000 per charge cash bond.

Neither school nor police officials have said whether or not the alleged victims are special education students. Officials also said it is believed that there are only three victims in the case, but that the case remains open, and anyone with additional information should contact the police department.
