2 airlifted from Saturday wreck

Two people were airlifted from the scene of a two-vehicle wreck Saturday near Red Level.

Alabama State Troopers said the accident occurred at 8:35 a.m. near the 33-mile marker on Ala. Hwy. 55 when a 2007 Dodge Charger, driven by Vincent McNemar, 36, of Andalusia, was traveling eastbound on Huggins Road and attempted to cross Ala. Hwy. 55 when he came into the path of a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by Michael Iman of Bessemer.

McNemar and Iman’s wife, Samantha, were injured and had to be life flighted from the scene.

McNemar’s passengers – 28-year-old William Reed and McNemar’s 14-year-old daughter Paige – were uninjured in the accident.

No other details about the accident were immediately available.
