Star-News recognized in ad contest

The Andalusia Star-News won seven awards in its division in the Alabama Press Association’s 2011 Advertising Contest, including:
• First place in the best single ad over half page-black and white for and Andalusia Regional Hospital ad by Jill Prewett and Erin Johnson,
• Second place in the best single ad over half page-black and white for Sav-A-Life of Covington County.
• First place in the best single ad over 1/2 page-color for a Walker Electric, Inc. ad by Jill Prewett and Erin Johnson
• Second place in the best single ad over 1/2 page-color for Andalusia Regional Hospital ad by Jill Prewett and Erin Johnson
• Second place in best one-time special section for Profile 2010: Growing Season.
• Third place in best in-paper promotion of newspaper for “Hit ‘em with a 2×4” promotion.
• Second place in best advertising campaign for Andalusia Regional Hospital campaign by Jill Prewett and Erin Johnson.
Forty-three newspapers submitted 844 entries in this year’s contest.
