Police say it could be up to 60 days before it is determined if charges will be filed in Sunday’s wreck that claimed the lives of two Red Level teens.

Lt. Steven Preston said the Florida State Troopers homicide investigation team is still investigating the accident that claimed the lives of Evan Carp-enter, 14, and Levi Neal, 15.

“Charges are pending until the investigation is complete,” Preston said.

The boys, along with Carpenter’s 13-year-old brother Hunter, were riding in the back of a pick up truck, driven by Ste-phen Pad-gett. As Padgett allegedly went to pass a vehicle in the southbound lane of Fla. State Road 189 in the Blackmon Community, the truck left the roadway and overturned twice.

Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the accident.

Hunter Carpenter, his mother, Dena Padgett, and brother Caleb Padgett, 6, also were passengers and all sustained injuries.
