2 still in hospital after Saturday’s traffic accident near Red Level

Family members reported Wednesday there were three people life flighted following the Saturday accident in Red Level – two of whom are still in a Florida hospital recovering.

Alabama State Troopers said the accident occurred at 8:35 a.m. near the 33-mile marker on Ala. Hwy. 55 involving a 2007 Dodge Charger and a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe.

Family said Vincent McNemar, the driver of the Charger, and his passengers, his son 28-year-old William Reed and 14-year-old Paige McNemar, were all severely injured in the accident.

Vincent McNemar and Reed were airlifted to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Fla., where they are reportedly in stable condition.

Paige McNemar was transported to Andalusia Regional Hospital, but was later airlifted to West Florida Hospital, also in Pensacola, Fla. She was released Monday and is now home recovering.

Preliminary reports following the accident reported only two people were airlifted from the scene.

Occupants of the Tahoe – Michael and Samantha Iman of Bessemer – suffered only minor injuries.
