LOIS LOUISE MADDOX

Lois Louise Maddox, 83, died Thurs., June 23, 2011, in Mizell Memorial Hospital after a long period of poor health.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Sun., June 26, from Calvary Holiness Church with burial following in Sweethome Cemetery.

Mark Sims will be officiating with Wyatt Funeral Home directing.

The family will begin receiving friends at 5 p.m. tonight at Calvary Holiness Church.

She was born to Elbert Shelby Sims & Pearl Grant Sims on Sept. 14, 1927, in Covington County.

She attended Fleeta School, worked in the textile industry and retired from the Opp Nursing Facility, where she worked for 13 years as a CNA.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Alfred Whitman of Phenix City and Barbara and Patrick Goodwin of Red Level; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Diane Wiggins of Enterprise; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Jean Sims of Opp; and nine grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, O.T. Maddox, and son, Bruce Maddox.
