NTSB, FAA briefing on crash this afternoon

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have scheduled a briefing at 4 p.m. today., Mon., June 27, at the airport to discuss yesterday’s aircraft accident.
No details have yet been released, but one man is dead following a plane crash near the South Alabama Regional Airport Sunday.
Law enforcement reported that the crash occurred about three-quarters of a mile from the SARA runway shortly before 6 p.m. Eyewitnesses said the plane made several passes around the airport before coming straight down.
The plane’s only occupant, an unidentified male pilot, died in the crash. It is believed the pilot was licensed in Colorado; however, no specific information as to his identity is being released at this time.
