The county school board made nine personnel changes at its Thursday meeting – including hiring Ronnie Douglas as the new coach at Pleasant Home School.

Douglas will be hired on a contractual basis and will not perform any teaching duties.

The board also hired:

• Billy Lamar Gibson as social science teacher at PHS under emergency hire status, effective Aug. 3.

• Donna Jean Rohan as special education teacher at PHS effective Aug. 3.

• Allison Sullivan as elementary teacher at PHS under emergency hire status, effective Aug. 3.

They voted to transfer, at her request, Amber McKathan from math teacher at Florala High to math at PHS.

The board also voted to accept the following resignations:

• J.B.Garner as science teacher/coach at Florala High School.

• Mary Frances Kelley, math teacher at Pleasant Home School.

• Midian C. Curry as secretary/bookkeeper at Straughn Middle School .

• Retha Daniels as lunchroom worker at PHS.
