The third Atlantic Storm has formed in the central Atlantic, but poses no threat to the Gulf Coast.

Wednesday afternoon, Tropical Storm Cindy was moving northeast near 24 mph.

Its track is expected to continue for the next couple of days as Cindy remains far from land over the open Atlantic.

Cindy’s maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph with higher gusts and is expected to weaken as it enters the colder water in the north Atlantic.
