OCS approves milk, bread bids

The Opp City School board voted to accept the bids for bread and ice cream for the next school year at Tuesday morning’s board meeting.

The bread bid was awarded to Earthgrains Baking Company and the ice cream was awarded to Blue Bell Creameries.

Additionally, the board approved the following personnel action.

• Grady Brooks was transferred from custodian at OHS to custodian at OMS;

• Willie Edwards was transferred from special education aide at OMS to special education aide at OHS;

• Amanda King, special education coordinator was transferred to special education teacher at OMS, effective Aug. 1. OCS superintendent Michael Smithart said the reasoning is due to budgetary considerations and the needs of special education students and the school district.

• Bridgett Jowers, was hired as child nutrition worker at OMS;

• Denise Clark was hired as after school program director; • Kevin Kelley was hired as special education aide at OMS;

• approved a request for education leave for Denise Clark;
