VIRGINIA COBB KNIGHT

Virginia Cobb Knight, born Dec. 5, 1952, entered into eternal rest surrounded by her family on Mon., July 25, 2011, at the age of 58.

A native of Andalusia and resident of Algiers, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Thadie Cobb. She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Charles Cobb, Betty Rakstis, Alan Cobb, Cathy Free and Denise McKinnon and their children. She was the mother of Jeffrey Ludlum, Kenneth Moore, James Corey Moore and the late Bobby Crowell; mother-in-law of Sara Beaver Moore. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Haley Crowell, Ian Moore, Delaney Moore, Dylon Moore and Megan Moore.

She had been a nurse for 25 years and loved old movies and crocheting.

As she has donated her body to science at the LSU medical center in New Orleans, there will be a memorial service on Sat., July 30, at 2 p.m. at Harmony Baptist Church.

MADELINE BUNCH MURPHY

Madelaine Bunch Murphy, 89, a resident of Greenville, died on Tues., July 26, 2011, after an extended illness.

Graveside services will be held on Sat., July 30, at 11 a.m. at Magnolia Cemetery in Greenville with the Rev. Jerry Wilkerson officiating. The family will receive friends at Dunklin and Daniels Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Jarvis Murphy in 1995.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda Murphy Maier of Frederick, Md., Carol Murphy Ingram (Doug) of Brentwood, Tenn., and Cheryl Murphy Gill (Charles) of Leesburg, Va.; son:  Phillip Murphy (Joyce Wood) of Greenville; six grandchildren:  Ed Maier, Bill Maier, Kristen Ingram Smithson, Douglas Ingram, Kellie Murphy Burton and Katelyn Gill; six great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church, 212 Fort Dale Road, Greenville, AL 36037.

JOHN L. PARRISH

John L. Parrish, 74, of Evergreen passed away Wed., July 27, 2011, at his residence.

Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m., today, Fri., July 29, at Stone Lake Gardens Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his son, George Parrish; two daughters, Jonnie (Kenny) Mott and Debbie (Doug) Jordan all of Tulsa, Okla.; brothers, Robert (June) Parrish of Colorado, Jackie Parrish of Andalusia and Albert (Sybil) Parrish of Brewton; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Comer.
