To escape the heat and recoup, a “dugout” was set up inside the Kiwanis building. There, players can unwind in front of the big screen and enjoy a movie, get their game on with a Wii system or even peruse the vendor booths.

Shortly after lunch Friday, the Missouri team quickly came out of their sweaty uniforms and donned clean clothes.

“This is so neat,” said Maddy Hart as she watched her brother Sam show off his dance moves on the Wii game “Just Dance 2.”

“It’s such a great idea, and it feels great in here compared to out there,” she said.
