A Troy man is in jail after he alle-ged stole nearly $3-,000 in electronics from two Andalusia homes Thursday afternoon.

Sgt. Jason Curry of the Andalusia Police Department said officers were called to a burglarized home on South Three Notch Street shortly after 5 p.m.

“While officers were working that scene, they got word of a second burglary that was happening about a block away,” Curry said.

He said when officers arrived at the second home, they came into contact with a possible suspect that the victim said had just left the residence; however, when those officers tried to make contact, the man – identified as 25-year-old Anthony M. Scott – fled.

“A short foot pursuit followed; however, (Scott) was not apprehended at that time,” Curry said. “About 11:30 that night, several 911 calls reported a man was in the middle of Straughn School Road attempting to flag down vehicles. Turns out it, it was Mr. Scott, who was taken into custody.”
