Frequency interference interupts web service

Some Alaweb customers may have experienced intermittent Internet service in the past few days, but not to worry, they have it under control, officials said.

“We have three sectors on a tower,” said spokesperson Mark Parker. “They are all in the same 900-mega hertz frequency. We are having some kind of frequency interference.”

Parker said it is unclear if someone is operating something in the 900-mega hertz rang or if it’s something else.

Parker said intermittent issues arise from time-to-time, but this one is taking a bit longer to figure out.

Parker said there are only about 50 to 100 of the company’s 1,100 to 1,200 customers affected.
