Tara Dalton paints a door that will be auctioned at the LAAC’s Art Off the Wall next weekend. Each side features unique, original artwork.

There are already three good reasons to be thinking about Christmas, and all three of them will be auctioned next Saturday.

Art Off the Wall, the annual fundraiser by the Lower Alabama Arts Coalition (LAAC) and the Covington Arts Council, is set for 6 p.m., Sat., Aug. 27, at the Andalusia Country Club.

Saturday will mark the sixth annual event.

This year’s live auction features three ways supporters can start to mark Christmas worries off their do-lists. Auction items include holiday parties for up to 25 and up to 50 people at LAAC.

Decorations and refreshments are included. The third holiday auction item gets decorations off your list.

Volunteers will come to the purchaser’s home and decorate for the holidays using the individual’s decorations.

Other items in the live auction include an original piece of artwork by Tara Dalton and a pet portrait by Jessica Tyler.

The event includes a wine and cheese reception during a silent auction of art work, followed by a surf and turf dinner featuring entertainment and a live auction.

Dinner entertainment – to be emceed by Judge Trippy McGuire – includes Hampton Glenn, Jim Walker, Honkey Tonk Angels (Paul Sue Duebelt, Ronda Ricks and Fran Davidson); and pianist Margie Thomasson.

Sponsorships for this event are $200 and include two tickets to the event. Individual tickets also are available for $40 each at Ansley Place, Brooks Hardware and Harolds’ Furniture.
