An Opp man is now in jail after allegedly breaking in and imprisoning his ex-girlfriend at her home Wednesday morning.

Opp Police Department Investigator Kevin Chance said night shift officers responded to the call of a male breaking into a Lunsford Trailer Park residence and assaulting a female.

“When officers arrived, the subject had already left the residence,” Chance said.

Officers located a 26-year-old female said her ex-boyfriend had broken into the back door of her residence, assaulted her and threatened to kill her, Chance said.

He said the victim was also restrained and received minor injuries.

“She gave us a description and identified the suspect as Christopher Lafogg,” he said. “She gave officer a location of a Perdue Street residence where he had been staying.”

Chance said officers located Lafogg, 31, in the yard of a Perdue Street residence.

“Lafogg was detained and taken to the OPD,” Chance said. “It was discovered that he had failure to appear warrants in Opp Municipal court.”

Lafogg is charged with burglary first-degree, domestic violence third-degree and unlawful imprisonment, and is being held in the Covington County jail under a $200,000 bond.
