An Opp man is in jail after allegedly sexually abusing a boy.
Chief Deputy David Anderson of the Covington County Sheriff’s Office said Jason Snell, 32, is now facing one count of sex abuse of a child less than 12 and two counts of first-degree sodomy.
Anderson said along with the assistance of the county Department of Human Resources, the investigation into the allegations began late Friday evening.
Anderson said Snell and his alleged victim were “related,” but declined to comment on the specifics of the relationship.
No other information was released in the case; however, Anderson said Snell could face additional charges as the investigation progresses.
Snell is currently being held in the Covington County Jail under an $80,000 bond.
