Mr. and Mrs. Steve Sparks of Foley announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashton Kathleen Phillips, to Jonathan Tobias Ricks, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tobbie Ricks of Andalusia.

The bride-elect is a 2009 graduate of Foley High School. She is currently attending the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and is employed at J.C. Penney.

The prospective groom is a 2005 graduate of Andalusia High School and a 2007 graduate of Lurleen B. Wallace Community College, where he earned a degree in forestry. He is a member of the Alabama National Guard and is currently employed with Jones Electrical in Tuscaloosa.

The wedding will take place on Sat., Sept. 3, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Kirkpatrick Park in Andalusia.

Out of town invitations are being sent, and all friends are invited to attend.
