Lora Simmons Barbaree shared this story about her daughter, Shelby, now 6.

“It was early in the morning and I was taking her to her dad’s and she started crying,” Barbaree recalled. “I said, ‘Shelby, why you crying’ and she said, ‘I am mad at you and Daddy.’ ”

When her mom asked why, then 5-year-old Shelby said, “Because I saw those wedding pictures of you and Daddy and I was not (at the wedding).”

Her mom promised her if ever there was another wedding, she’d be invited.

There are now 152 children enr-olled in the Covi-ngton County Imagination Library, which distributes a book each month to every child enrolled from birth to kindergarten.

This week, the library added one child to the library’s roll, Ah’Shiya my’Airra Edmond of Opp.
