Do your children enjoy singing? Do they have a knack for rhythm?
If so, the First Baptist Church’s children’s choir might be the right up their alley.
Music minister Dwight Crigger said the ministry is free and open to the whole community.
“It is open to anyone ages 4 through fifth grade,” he said. “We have a bus that picks up the children from AES.”
Crigger said school-aged children who wish to ride the bus must have their parents sign release forms at the church.
Crigger said students will have the opportunity to perform several times each year to showcase the things they’ve learned.
“They will be learning music, rhythm, games, at the center and all with Christ as the focus,” he said. “They are divided into their age group. We do movement, crafts, singing and other activities to help the children learn.”
Crigger said there are classes for each age, with the exception of a joint class with the fourth and fifth grades.
The choir meets each Tuesday after school from 2:45 p.m. until 4 p.m.
