Fly your flag, pray

For several weeks after the Sept. 11, 2011, attack on the Twin Towers in New York City, people were going to church and buying the U.S. flag to fly at their home/businesses to show their love and respect for God and America.

Many church pews are now empty and where have the flags gone?

Very few flags can be seen flying throughout our city.

More than 6,000 were killed or injured in the 9/11 attack; however, Americans came together to do what they could to ease the pain and suffering of others. There were many heroes, from all walks of life, helping to show their faith in God and in America.

Today, we have men and women that have been injured or killed to preserve the freedom we are enjoying – they proudly carry our flag into battle at all times. Can’t we, at least, fly our flag to support our troops and to show that we still love our country?

If you don’t own a flag, I urge you to purchase one to fly, and remember II Chronicles 7:14, “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins and heal their land.”
