Salter, Cook to exchange vows in October ceremony

Scott and Patricia Salter of Evergreen are proud to announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Casey Michelle Salter, to James Calvin “Cal” Cook II, son of Albert and Jennie Giles of Troy and James C. “Jimbo” Cook of McKenzie.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Charles and Willene Salter of Bermuda, Ala., Ruby Phillippi of Evergreen and the late Gerald (Jerry) Brown of Monroeville. She is the great-granddaughter of the late Gabriel and Mollie Booker of Evergreen.

She is a 2006 graduate of Sparta Academy in Evergreen, a 2008 graduate of Jefferson Davis Community College in

Brewton, and she also completed the Alabama Dental Hygiene Program in June 2011. She is employed by Dr. Jon Ward D.M.D. in Andalusia.

The prospective groom is the grandson of James and Linda King of Andalusia, Frances Walker and the late Don Walker of Troy, and John and Dorothy Cook of McKenzie. He is the great-grandson of Linnie Elizabeth Austin and the late John Larry Austin of Brundidge and the late Leroy and Dorothy Smith of McKenzie.

He is a 2004 graduate of McKenzie High School and a 2006 graduate of Reid State Technical College in Evergreen. He is employed by CSX Transportation in Troy.

The wedding ceremony will take place on Oct. 15, 2011, at Brooks Assembly of God Church in McKenzie.

After the wedding, the couple will reside in McKenzie with their dog Daisy.
