Turner, Thomasson to wed

Mr. Clay Hampton Thomasson and Miss Carrie Elizabeth Turner, both of Andalusia, would like to announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Mrs. Carolyn H. Turner and Mr. W. Terry Turner. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Florence Holloway and the late Mr. Hubert H.C. Holloway and Mr. and Mrs. W. Edward Turner, all of Andalusia.

She is a graduate of Pleasant Home School and Faulkner University where she earned a bachelor of business administration. She is employed by the Covington County Board of Education, is chairman of the Covington County Relay for Life, and is on the board of directors for Andalusia Community Christmas.

The prospective groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis H. Thomasson. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Calvin F. Jacques of Okolona, Ark., and the late Mr. and Mrs. James W. Thomasson of Andalusia.

He is a graduate of Andalusia High School and Auburn University, where he earned a bachelor of science in building construction. He is employed by Hoar Construction as a construction superintendent. He is also the 2011 12-gauge state champion for the Alabama Skeet Shooting Association.

An evening wedding ceremony will be held at 5 on Sat., Sept. 24, 2011, at Cedar Grove Church of Christ. A reception will follow at the Andalusia Power Plant Farmers Market. All friends and family are welcome.
