Car fanatics get ready.
The seventh annual Andalusia Classics and Streetrods annual family fun day is slated for this Sat., Sept. 17.
The event will feature an inside car show.
Organizer Ronnie Kilgore said on Monday they had 97 cars signed up to be on display, and anticipated 100-plus before the weekend show.
Kilgore said the group tries to change up the show each year to make it more interesting.
“The oldest one signed up is a 1915 Model T,” he said. “We also will have a Shelby GT-500, which is a very unusual high-dollar car.”
Kilgore said he estimated about $3 million plus in cars to be on display during Saturday’s event, which will be held at the Kiwanis Community Center.
Kilgore said car enthusiasts are bringing their antique and class vehicles from as far away as Panama City, Fla., and Deatsville.
Best of show will receive a $500 prize, best interior, best engine and best paint will receive $100. There will also be four $50 drawings from all entries and some 25 special awards.
The first 100 entries will receive a free T-shirt.
George and the Club will have food for sale and DJ Mike will provide the entertainment.
Fifty/25/25 tickets, which is where two tickets are drawn and 25 percent of the pot goes to each of the two winners and the other 50 percent to charity.
Ticket holders must be present to win.
Additionally, there will be a large garage sale going on simultaneously in the midway to benefit the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
Booths are $25 each and can be purchased at 7 a.m. on Saturday or by calling Kilgore at 222-4227 or Harold Mitchell at 469-5494.
Cost is $2 per person and children 10 and under are free. The event kicks off at 8 a.m. and lasts until 4 p.m.
“Come have fun and enjoy these wonderful classic cars,” he said.
