Andalusia City Schools passed a $16.16 million budget Tuesday night.
The system is projected to receive $8.5 million from the state of Alabama in the 2012 fiscal year, $1.7 million in federal funds, $3.35 million in local revenues and $33,500 in other revenues.
Also factored in the budget is $2 million in Qualified School Construction Bonds for the new physical education facility at Andalusia High School.
The system’s expenditures are slightly less than its total revenues at $16.1 million.
Of that, $7.7 million is set aside for instructional services; $1.7 million for instructional support services; $1.2 million for operations and maintenance; $1.35 million for auxiliary services; $704,000 for general administrative services; $2 million for capital outlay; $604,000 for debt service and $230,000 for other expenditures.
Chief Financial Officer Jean Sellers said the anticipated ending fund balance for Sept. 30, 2012 is $1.99 million.
Sellers also said she hopes to have a little more than one month’s operating reserve once the current budget year is complete. For ACS, one month’s operating reserve is $800,000.
Additionally, the board voted to approve six fundraisers for the Andalusia High School baseball team at the request of coach Jonathan Rasberry. The fundraisers include a dodgeball tournament, Boston butt sale, a kids’ baseball camp, Auburn and Alabama ticket raffles, a Xbox 360 NCAA football tournament, and sponsorships to raise money to build a club house for the baseball field and to reconstruct dugouts.
