Dance and vocal auditions for the Andalusia Ballet’s December production of Messiah will be held today

Dance auditions are at the Andalusia Ballet, 1216 East Three Notch Street. There is a $25 charge for dance auditions. Audition times are:

• 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. – Junior Company

• 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Senior Company

• 1 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. – 5- and 6-year-olds

• 1:30 p.m. – 2 p.m. – 7- and 8-year-olds

• 2 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. – 9- and 10-year-olds

Former Andalusian Becky Taylor, director of the Montgomery Chorale, will coordinate the community chorus and orchestra for the performance. Taylor said vocalists will meet from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sun., Sept. 18, in the conference room of the LBW Conference Center, also known as the Dixon Center annex. Those interested in auditioning for solo parts will do so after rehearsal.

Taylor said 40 to 50 people are needed to sing in the chorus, which will practice on Sunday afternoons.
