MARY KATHRYN WILSON

Mary Kathryn Wilson of Louisberg, N.C., formerly of Andalusia, was called home by her heavenly father on Sept. 10, 2011, at the age of 66. She passed away in Raleigh, N.C., after a lengthy battle with cancer.

A memorial service was held at Grace Reformed Baptist Church in Rocky Mount, N.C., on Sept. 13, 2011.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James A. Wilson Sr. and Lucille P. Wilson. She is survived by her son, Joseph Legacy; daughter, Kimberly Legacy Rice; grandchildren, Joey Legacy, Lucy Legacy, Jordan Rice and Connor Rice; sister, Anne Wilson Folmar; and brother, James A Wilson Jr.

WALTER HILL

Walter Hill of Andalusia died Sept. 8, 2011.

Funeral services will be held today, Sat., Sept. 17, at the Church of the Living God Temple in Andalusia at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Marshall Cemetery with Pastor Larry Blackmon officiating.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Rebecca Hill; two daughters, Tonia Turner and Peatria Turner; son, Jerome Turner, all of Brooklyn, N.Y.; five stepdaughters, Cynthia Wilson of Dothan, Darlene Stallworth of Brooklyn, N.Y., Carrie Likely and Katrina Stallworth of Raleigh, N.C., and Ramons Stallworth of Andalusia; four aunts, Agnes Brye (Henry) of Sacramento, Calif., Barbara Ann Bowens of Evergreen, Martha Ross of Oakland, Calif., and Valgerta Tripp of Henstead, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; several cousins and classmates; and an especially close friend, Lamin Faal.

HAZEL MARIE MILLS “GUS” SMITH

Hazel Marie Mills “Gus” Smith, 93, of Montgomery, formerly of Andalusia, died Wed., Sept. 14, 2011, in a Montgomery hospital.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m., Sun., Sept. 18, from Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. John Foster and Dr. Harrell Cushing officiating. Interment will follow at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray C. Smith, and parents, Floyd P. Mills and Ruth Pearce Neerings.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharis LeMay and husband, Ronnie, of Montgomery and Carmen Smith of Panama City, Fla.; and a grandson, Mathew LeMay of Montgomery.
