An Opp teen is behind bars after he and another teen held up a 14-year-old with a BB gun recently.

Opp Police officers arrested Olajuwon Hines, 17, and a 15-year-old juvenile for first-degr-ee robbery.

OP-D chief Nic-key Car-nley said Hines and his accomplice received a ride to a Brown Street residence when the incident occurred.

“While riding in the backseat of the vehicle, Hines and the juvenile took out a BB pistol and pointed it at a 14-year-old front seat passenger,” he said.

When they arrived at their Brown Street destination, the pair asked the victim for his money, but he did not have any, and Hines searched his pockets.

Carnley said the juvenile was charged with the crime and his case is being handled through Covington County Youth Services.

Since Hines is more than 16 years old, he is being charged as an adult, since first-degree robbery is considered a violent crime and a Class A felony, Carnley said.

Hines was taken to the Covington County Jail and was held under a $200,000 bond.
