RANDALL LENELL BERRY

Randall Lenell Berry, 51, of Andalusia, died Tues., Oct. 4, 2011, at the Andalusia Hospital.

Funeral services will be held today, Thurs., Oct. 6, at 11 a.m., at the Brooks Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church 30 minutes prior to services.

Survivors include his mother, Uvonne Berry of Red Level; his brother, Andell Berry of Red Level; sisters and brothers-in-law, Debora and Robert Hilson and Shelia and Terry Bulger of the Red Oak Community.

Mr. Berry is preceded in death by his father, Arell Berry.

Pallbearers will be Shannon Bulger, Robbie Hilson, Wesley Hilson, Timmy Bulger, Andy Berry and Michael Bulger.

VELMA LUCILE DEWBERRY SAWYER

Velma Lucile Dewberry Sawyer, 96, passed away peacefully at her home in the Sandcut Community of Castleberry. She went to her reward with her Lord and Savior on the evening of Oct. 3, 2011, with her loved ones at her side. Born April 14, 1915, Mrs. Sawyer lived to the wonderful young age of 96 years.

Visitation will be at Craver’s Funeral Home in Brewton tonight from 6-8 p.m.

A celebration of life service will be held Fri., Oct. 7, at 2 p.m., at London Baptist Church, located on County Road 6 in Castleberry. Interment to follow immediately at Ramah Primitive Baptist Church in Lenox.

She was a faithful and lifelong member of London Baptist Church. Lovingly known as “Mama” to her nine children; “Granny” to her many precious grandchildren and to numerous other relatives and friends as “Aunt Sis” or “Velma.” She was a wonderful inspiration to all of us by the way she lived her life of faith, love and kindness. She will be sadly missed by all.

Mrs. Sawyer was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wallace; and children, Mavis Jean Bartlett, Austin Jerome Sawyer and Wallace Wayne Sawyer.

She is survived by six children, Charles (Sarah) Sawyer, Joyce Gleaves, Eleanor (Eddie) Lambert, Donald (Hilda) Sawyer, Sylvia (Bill) Browning, Marilyn (Barry) Browning and Marilyn (Barry) Vonderau; loving daughter-in-law, Dorthy Sawyer Crispin; 74 grandchildren; and dozens of great and great-great grandchildren.

OLLIE LEE CANNON FRAZIER

Ollie Lee Cannon Frazier, 99, passed away on Mon., Oct. 3, 2011.

She was born Feb. 14, 1912, in Lockhart, to the late Pate R. Cannon and Julia Weeks Cannon.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., today, Thurs., Oct. 6, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at noon at Foreman Funeral Home.

She is survived by daughter, Julia Almyra Frazier Culpepper, and son-in-law, Larry Culpepper of Clanton; grandchildren, Britt Culpepper of Clanton, Claudia Culpepper Miller (Chris) of Clanton, Chad Frazier (Marcella) of Birmingham, Lauri Frazier Wyatt (Drew) of Dothan and Kristen Frazier Per Cent (Ivor) of Punta Gorda, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Caydee Grace Miller, Cannon Miller, Britlee Claire Culpepper, Nicolas Frazier, Lucas Frazier, Frazier Wyatt and Siler Per Cent; daughter-in-law, Sherry Frazier Wingate; and sister-in-law, Carmia Cannon.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband, C. H. “Son” Frazier; and son, Claude H. “Buddy” Frazier Jr., as well as by five brothers and six sisters. She is the last member of a family of 12 children.

The family sends a special thanks to the employees of Woodmore Assisted Living for eight years of love and kindness in caring for Mrs. Frazier, as well as to Dr. Bob Williams and Mizell Hospital employees for provided support during her final days.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the First Baptist Church of Sanford or American Cancer Society.

RACHEL TAYLOR

Rachel Layton Taylor, 86, a resident of Prattville, died Wed., Oct. 5, 2011.

Funeral services will be held on Fri., Oct. 7, at 2 p.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial with Dr. Travis Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in McKenzie, in the South Butler Cemetery with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Benjamin Taylor.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Ivey (Farrell); two grandchildren, Jessica Shavers (T.J.), Rachel Friday (Chad); and five great-grandchildren.
