Writer supports state’s new immigration law

To the Editor of The Star-News:

Well, folks, here we go again. The editor of The Star-News has come out against the new Alabama immigration law.

I don’t understand why all liberals think the same way, but it seems they do. In the first place, our Constitution states very clearly that illegal immigrants are illegal. If you let one person break the law, then everyone thinks they, too, can break our laws. If a hard-working American citizen breaks the law, he goes to jail. When an illegal immigrant breaks the law here, he gets a free trip back to Mexico where he can turn around and come right back.

The editor of The Star-News spoke of all the poor children and families. They should think about that before they cross the border into the U.S.

It would be good if all liberals took a look back in history and learned a lesson from the past. All nations who have not enforced their laws and constitutions have fallen and gone by the wayside.

It is sad that our country has turned into a haven for illegals. Must wonder if the editor knows what happens if an American citizen goes across the Mexican border illegally? They would be put into prison for years. Seems it’s OK for them to come over here illegally, but we cannot go there without proper documentation! What?!

You know, if people would think more about what is good in this country instead of what’s wrong with this country, we may not be in the fix we are in right now.

It is about time our great state does something about this (immigration) problem. However, the liberal way is to do nothing, and maybe everything will be OK. This is why our country is in the shape it is now.

I thank God that Alabama finally has a conservative governor and legislators who think (believe) the way the majority of the good people of Alabama think! By the way, our elected people in Montgomery support the immigration bill whether you do or not.

If we got back to what our founding fathers believed when they wrote the constitution, our country would not be in the mess it is. They believed in God and Country!

Sincerely and thank you,

Larry Mullen
