The season of giving is right around the corner, and the Andalusia Adult Activity Center is calling on the community to do just that – give.

Each year the center sponsors 80 homebound senior citizens around the Christmas holiday, said AAC Center Dianne Jones.

“The needs of senior adults are often forgotten by their family and our community at Christmas,” she said. “Please help us make a difference by donating to our homebound senior Christmas basket project.

Carter said the AAC will take donations until Nov. 17, including pillows, towels and bath cloths, kitchen towels, non-perishable food items.

Monetary donations may also be made.

AAC staff will distribute the items around the first part of December.

“Our staff takes it out, and they also donate a lot of the items,” she said. “Any help we can get we’d greatly appreciate it.”
