Andalusians who decorate for Christmas have an opportunity to win prize money this year by participating in a city-sponsored outdoor Christmas decorating contest.

Only the decorations of those who complete applications will be judged. Applications are online at www.cityofandalusia.com or are available for pickup at city hall.

Out-of-town judges will choose the winners, and only outside decorations will be considered.

Prizes for businesses will be $750 for first place; $500 for second; and $250 for third. Prices for residential decorations will be $500 for first place; $300 for second place; and $200 for third place.

Judging will be done Dec. 3, 2011, from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m., rain or shine. Winners will be announced on Dec. 4.
