Tiger Quick Stop asks again for beer license

After being denied an off-premise beer license in January, the owners a Straughn Community convenience store are asking commissioners to change their mind.

The request was denied after District 2 Commissioner Bragg Carter, who represents the Straughn area, said that he’d had complaints that people would have the opportunity to walk out of the football stadium, purchase beer at the Tiger Quick Stop and come back to the stadium. Ultimately, the other commissioners agreed.

Now, the owners are asking for reconsideration. A public hearing is set for Nov. 28 at 9:30 a.m. to allow for the community’s input on the proposed license.
