Andalusia’s Sam Byrd led the Bulldogs with 26 points, and Jacard Townsend chipped in 12 points.

“Until we get our ball handling better, we’re going to see pressure,” AHS boys basketball coach Richard Robertson said. “We practiced (Tuesday morning), and worked hard on what we were going to do.

“We came over here and did a pretty good job of doing it,” he said. “It was a matter of staying focused.”

Alexis Horton had 24 points, and Shi’Amber Townsend added 17 points. Alison Daniels had seven points.

AHS girls basketball coach Bennie Shellhouse said his girls put forth a solid “defensive game.”

“The whole tournament gave us an opportunity to have a good look at good talent, and for us to play against good talent,” Shellhouse said.

Troy Nolen led the Tigers with 16 points, and James Feagin had 13 points. KJ Lawrence chipped in 12 points, and Tim Sims had nine.

“We finally calmed down and played good defense and started taking care of the basketball better,” RLS coach Allen Catrett said after the 8-0 CHHS run. “We had twoo many turnovers, but we played hard the whole game.”
