Red Level tourney resumes

Rivals Andalusia and Straughn will meet for the first time this season in Red Level’s 14th annual invitational girls basketball Christmas tournament.

The Lady Bulldogs are coming off a 74-34 rout over Elba in the first round of the tournament, while the Lady Tigers enter today’s semifinal contest after defeating Brantley 57-55 in over time in the first round.

The game will tip off at 3 p.m. today in the Jimmy Prestwood Gym.

The winner of the Andalusia-Straughn match up will face the winner of Highland Home and Luverne in the tournament finals tomorrow night at 6 for the girls title.

Red Level’s girls will face Georgiana today at noon in the loser’s bracket.

In the boys side of the tournament, Straughn will face tournament host Red Level at 7:30 tonight in the semifinals. The other semifinal match is between Brantley and Georgiana at 4:30 p.m.

Opp dropped down to the loser’s bracket, and will face Flomaton at 10:30 a.m. today.

The boys finals will take place tomorrow night at 7:30.
