Andalusia seniors Jacard Townsend and CP Rogers were selected to the 2011 Alabama Sports Writers Association Class 4A All-State football team, which was released today.

Townsend and Rogers helped lead the Bulldogs to their first perfect regular season since 1977.

Townsendm selected at linebacker, and Rogers as a punter on the first team.

The senior linebacker had 65 total tackles, 14 sacks, three caused fumbles and one interception this season.

Rogers had an average of 40.6 yards for 812 total yards. He had a net average of 37 yards, and had 13 punts over 40 yards.

His long was 50 yards.

Additionally, Pleasant Home’s Austin Chesser was selected as an honorable mention at offensive line on the Class 1A team.
