Christmas is over, so now what to do with your live Christmas tree?

City of Andalusia officials said the garbage truck would pick-up trees placed curbside on residents’ designated trash days.

Additionally, they can take them to the landfill, which is located off of Sutton Road in the Industrial Park, Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. until 2:45 p.m.

In Opp, City Clerk Connie Smith said residents could also place their unwanted trees beside the road and the pick-up crew would “take care” of it when they make their rounds in the neighborhood.

“Or they can take it to the landfill,” she said. “They just need to make sure they take their utility bill with them, so they aren’t charged for this.”

Opp’s landfill is open weekdays from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m.
