Durham Richard “Dick” Bozeman, 79, of Red Level, passed away Tues., Jan. 3, 2012, in the Opp hospital.

Funeral services are incomplete and will be announced later by Keahey Funeral Home.

 

MARILYN WEATHERFORD ROGERS

Marilyn Weatherford Rogers, 79, died Dec. 27, 2011, at her residence.

She had been a resident of Opp for the past 40 years. Formally of Darlington, S.C., Mrs. Rogers was born April 16, 1932, to Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Weatherford in Latta, S.C.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Rogers Jr., and her children, Donny (Donna), Renay, and Paul (Jenny) Rogers III; and six grandchildren, Jill, Jake, Russ, C.P., Jud Rogers and Brie Lowery

Private family services were held on Sun., Jan. 1, 2012.

 

DAVID DEWAYNE PETTIE

David Dewayne Pettie, 42, of Andalusia, died on Dec. 30, 2011, at his residence.

Funeral services were held Tues., Jan. 3, 2012, from the Antioch Congregational Church with the Rev. Derwood Cleland officiating. Interment followed in the Weed Cemetery.

Mr. Pettie is survived by his son, Hunter Pettie; daughter, Lakyn Pettie; father, John William “J.W.” Pettie; stepmother, Mary Ann Lewis, all of Andalusia; four brothers, John (Cindy) Pettie of Andalusia, Darren Pettie of Los Angeles, Calif., Jason Pettie and George Pettie, both of Andalusia; sister, Dana Pettie Atchison of Alpharetta, Ga.; four nephews; three nieces; and three great-nephews.

Mr. Pettie was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Ann Britton, and grandparents, Arthur and Juanita Jackson, James Wilton Pettie and Carrie Lee Bailey.

Pallbearers were Bobby Blackburn, Ronald Anderson, Darrell Denny, Ronnie Anderson, Freddie Odom and Costen Harris. Honorary pallbearers were Porter Harris and Joe Rhymes.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Jack and Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation, 3282 Northside Parkway NW, Suite 100, Atlanta, GA 30327.
