THE REV. GREEN HARRELL

The Rev. Green Harrell, 85, of Andalusia, passed away Sun., Jan. 8, 2012, in the Andalusia hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wed., Jan. 11, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Sharpe and the Rev. Johnny Moore officiating and burial following in the Enon Baptist Church cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be tonight from 6-8 at Keahey Funeral Home.

The Rev. Harrell served in the United States Army and was a forest ranger in Mobile County for the State of Alabama Department of Forestry. He served faithfully for 48 years as a Baptist minister in churches in Alabama and Northwest Florida. His family is grateful for the legacy he leaves of faith, love and family.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Louise Johnson Harrell of Andalusia; two sons, Warren (Merita) Harrell of Thomasville and Alfred Harrell of Telogia, Fla.; two daughters, Dorothy Conner of Saraland and Virginia Garrick of Thomasville; one sister, Etta Wilson of Andalusia; eight grandchildren, David (Lori) Conner, Miranda (Bo) Wilkinson, Rachel (Stephen) Powell, Candis (Bucky) Busby, Will Harrell, Aaron (Stephanie) Harrell, Sam Harrell and Jesse Harrell; and nine great-grandchildren, Emily Wilkinson, Ally Busby, Lillie Conner, Gracie Powell, Ty Busby, Benjamin Conner, Brooke Wilkinson, John Allen Powell and William Conner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Green Warren Harrell Sr. and Martha Ida Boyett Harrell; his brothers, William Elie Harrell, Alford (Ted) Harrell, Walter Harrell, Rufus “Boy” Harrell; and his sisters, Eva Henderson and Elma Sasser.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Conner, Will Harrell, Aaron Harrell, Sam Harrell, Jesse Harrell, Bo Wilkinson, Stephen Powell and Bucky Busby.

Serving as honorary pallbearers with be Don Harrell, John Harrell, Robert Harrell, Larry Harrell, Jerry Harrell, Gerald Norris, Chester Ray Norris, Johnny Norris, Vernon Norris and Donnie Johnson.

 

HOWARD THOMAS DAVIS

Howard Thomas Davis, 59, of Andalusia, died Fri., Jan. 6, 2012, in the Opp Nursing Home.

Graveside services were held at 2:30 p.m., Sun., Jan. 8, at the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Merrill Davis and Richard Davis officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his mother, Christine Davis; his brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Betty Davis; nephews, Merrill Davis and wife, Shanna, all of Andalusia, and Baker Davis and his wife, Jana of Foley; a niece, Amanda Wardle and her husband, Will of Leeds; and several great nieces and nephews.

JIMMY WAYNE KEEFFE

Jimmy Wayne Keeffe passed away Jan. 7, 2012, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan.

He was the son of the late James and Annie Maude Keeffe and graduated from Andalusia High School and attended Livingston College. He resided in Florida before returning to Andalusia, where he was the manager of Welders Supply.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Annie Maude Keeffe, and a brother, Robert Keeffe.

He is survived by one daughter, Debbie Bledsoe of Naples, Fla.; two aunts, Mary Helen Jackson of Greenville, S.C., and Leila Keeffe Holloway of Trussville; and nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the employees of Welders Supply, especially Derrick and John, for their love and support throughout Jimmy’s illness.

Graveside services will be held today, Tues., Jan. 10, at 1 p.m., at the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with visitation at Foreman Funeral Home from 11:30–12:30.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or the charity of one’s choice.

CECILIA RALEY CLARK

Mrs. Cecilia Raley Clark, 92, of Andalusia, died Sun., Jan. 8, 2012, in Elmore, Ala.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., today, Tues., Jan. 10, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dale Norris officiating and burial following in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.

Survivors include her two sisters, Agnes Reeves of Dozier and Delora Neese of Samford, Fla.; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jake Elmore, J. C. Raley, John Clark, David Calhoun, Zack Godwin and Nathan Shirey.
