Geneva County outscored Florala 22-9 in the fourth period to come away with a 58-55 area victory over the Wildcats on Tuesday night.

“We were almost playing like we were behind,” FHS coach Daniel Allison said. “We weren’t being patient. We were coming down the floor, and really not trying to get a really good shot.

“They stepped up their pressure, but we hit a wall right there in the fourth quarter,” he said.

Florala led 8-6 after the first period, 31-19 at half time and 46-36 after the third period.

Austin McNeil led the Wildcats with 15 points. Jonathan Burleson and John Bess had eight points each.

Florala will play host to Kinston on Friday, and Elba on Saturday. Tip off on Friday is at 4:30 p.m. with the B-team.

Games on Saturday start at 4 p.m. with the varsity girls.
