Lady Bulldogs stay at No. 10 in recent BK poll

Andalusia’s girls remain ranked No. 10 in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association basketball poll that was released today.

The Lady Bulldogs (18-2, 4-0 in Class 4A, Area 3) earned their 18th straight win on Tuesday night in a 63-40 victory over rival Straughn in area action.

AHS beat Calera 65-53 on Saturday on the road.

The Lady Bulldogs will visit Ashford on Friday night in area action and if they win, they’ll earn the right to host the area tournament, which will be Feb. 6, 9 and 11.

Straughn’s Lady Tigers (14-4) were also nominated for this week’s poll.

In the boys poll, Class 2A’s Red Level was nominated, but not ranked.

The Tigers beat Elba 61-59 on Tuesday night, and improved to 15-7 on the season.

RLS will visit Zion Chapel tonight in area action.
