CHRISTOPHER S. LAMONT

Christopher S. Lamont, 31, of Andalusia, died Mon., Jan. 16, 2012, from injuries in an auto accident.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., today Fri., Jan. 20, from the New Home Congregational Church with Brother Randy Jackson officiating and interment following in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his mother, Deirdra Lamont of River Falls; his son, John Shannon Lamont; daughter, Catlin Dayle Lamont; brother and sister-in-law, James and Megan Lamont of Chelsea; grandfather, George Lamont Sr. of South Carolina; uncles, Roger (Charlotte) Smith of River Falls, George Lamont of Mobile, Stephen Lamont of Birmingham, Scott Lamont and Tommy Smith of Andalusia; aunts, Becky (Buddy) Campbell of River Falls, Ann (Barry) Padgett of McKenzie, Rocky Minchew of South Carolina, Julie Lamont, Elizabeth Reed of Wisconsin and Melissa Lamont of Mississippi; special friends, Heather Waugh and Randee Lamont; stepchildren, Abby Langford and Alesha Langford; niece, Brookyn Renee Lamont; and numerous cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Shannon Lamont; and grandparents, Dub and Betty Smith and Nell Lamont.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral fund, which will be accepted at Foreman Funeral Home.

MOZELLE GLISSON MCCURLEY

Mozelle Glisson McCurley, 89, of Opp, died Tues., Jan. 17, 2012, in the Florala nursing home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sat., Jan. 21, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eugene Meadows officiating and burial following in Blue Springs Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Foreman Funeral Home.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Carolyn McCurley, James and Diann McCurley of Opp, Paul and Shirley McCurley of Virginia; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Robert Curry of Andalusia and Faye and Jim Paul Smithart of New Hampshire; a daughter-in-law, Becky McCurley of Andalusia; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and her sister and brother-in-law, Loyse and Foy Norris of Andalusia.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Russie Lee McCurley; son, Richard McCurley; and grandsons, Jim Paul Smithart Jr. and Bobby Curry.

TERRY LYNN PARKER

Terri Lynn Parker, 54, of Andalusia, died Wed., Jan. 18, 2012, in the Andalusia hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Sat., Jan. 21, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Meadowlawn Cemetery in Enterprise.

Visitation will be held at Foreman Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.

Survivors include her sister, Delana (James) Bush of Saraland; her nieces and nephews, James Keith Bush, James Grant Bush, Melinda (Jimmy) Hall and Megan (Josh) Johnson; and 10 great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde E. and Mary Alice Parker.

RUBY POE “BOOTS” DAVIS

Ruby Poe “Boots” Davis, 83, of Tuscaloosa, died Wed., Jan. 18, 2012.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sun., Jan. 22, at First Baptist Church chapel, Tuscaloosa, with the Rev. William A. Poe officiating. A private burial will be held at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park preceding the memorial service, with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home and Cremations directing.

Visitation will be held Sunday immediately following the service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clark Davis; her parents, H.C. and Willie Poe; two sisters; and three brothers.

She is survived by her sons Stan (Dale) Davis of Birmingham and Ken (Leslie) Davis of Tuscaloosa; brother, William A. (Beth) Poe of Birmingham; grandchildren, Cali (Brad) Hydrick of Orange Beach, Tama (Jason) Kasper of Nashville, Tenn., and Courtney Davis and Kate Davis of Tuscaloosa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She graduated from Tuscaloosa High School in 1944 and attended Howard College, now Sanford University. She spent most of her adult life living in Andalusia, where she raised her family, was a kindergarten teacher for 15 years and was a Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church.

She and her husband returned to Tuscaloosa in 1988, where they were active members of First Baptist Church. She loved participating in church activities, especially Triple L. She served others through the church and was particularly diligent about visiting the sick, shut-ins and other people in need.

She loved spending time with her granddaughters and cooking for her family. She will always be remembered for her butternut cake and homemade ice cream.

Pallbearers will be Richard Hall, Wayne Landers, Brad Hydrick, Brandon Hall, Richard Poe, Drew Hall and Jason Kasper.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Regina Harrell and the wonderful nurses and staff at Heritage Health Care and Rehab.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Alabama Eye and Tissue Bank or to the charity of one’s choice.
