The Alabama Cooperative Extension System will join with the Alabama Clean Water Partnership to host a “Make and Take Rain Barrel Workshop.” The program will be held from 10 a.m. until noon on Thurs., Feb. 9, at the Covington County Extension Office in Andalusia.

The cost of the workshop is $35. Participants will learn about watersheds, nonpoint source pollution, the importance of water conservation, water harvesting, and a brief intro to rain gardens. Each participant will construct and leave the workshop with a completed rain barrel. Rain barrels help to conserve water, reduce runoff, provide treatment free water for plants, and help save money!!!
