Looking for something to pretty up your yard?
Then, look no further than the upcoming annual Covington County Forestry Planning Committee’s annual tree sale.
Chuck Simon, Covington County Extension coordinator, said it is one of the most widely attended events held at the local U.S. Department of Agriculture building each year.
“Which means you should come early for the biggest selection,” Simon said. “There are more than 20 different varieties of trees available, and at only $1 each, a huge opportunity.”
Species available are green ash, white ash, bald cypress, river birch, chinquapin, Southern crabapple, flowering dogwood, fringetree (Grancy greybeard), Japanese maple, red maple, overcup oak, sawtooth oak, shumard oak, white oak, common persimmon, Chickasaw plum, redbud, sycamore and yellow poplar.
The sale will be held Feb. 1 through Feb. 3, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m.
For more information on the tree sale, call the extension office at 334-222-1125.
