AHS girls ranked No. 9 in latest poll

The Andalusia Lady Bulldogs moved up one spot in the latest Class 4A Alabama Sports Writers Association basketball poll that was released today.

Andalusia beat Headland 63-28 on Tuesday night to improve to 20-2 overall.

The Lady Bulldogs are also on a win streak with 18 straight wins this season.

Last Friday night, the Lady Bulldogs narrowly escaped their area contest on the road at Ashford, but prevailed to win 60-50.

Andalusia was ranked No. 10 last week.

The Lady Bulldogs will visit Northview (Dothan) tonight in regular season action, and will play against T.R. Miller, Brantley and Opp to close out the regular season.

In boys, Red Level was nominated, but is not ranked in the top 10 of Class 2A.

The Tigers improved to 17-8 overall after defeating New Brockton 68-57 in area action.

RLS will visit Elba tomorrow night in a crucial area contest. If RLS gets a win, then it will host the Class 2A, Area 2 tournament, which begins on Feb. 7 for the boys.
